Irish ballads and a drinking song
20h Lisbon / London / 22h Odessa, Ukraine
IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM INVISIBLE CITY: If this is the first time you are coming to our invisible room with Jolly's, keep reading. If you know them already, just prepare for more ballads and many more drinking songs!
Jolly's come from Odessa, the seaport of Ukraine, is a generous place.
If you are born here, you are blessed with the freedom to choose what nationality and city you will allow to be born within you.
Jolly’s band confesses that once they discovered Irish music, Ireland was born within them. Valeria Mazurenko’s days are unthinkable without her Irish whistle and bodhrán (pronounced as “bow-rown”), an Irish frame drum played with a stick called cipín. Evgeny Falin contrasts the earthy rhythms of the drum with his flying violin, while Nikolai Mazurenko, the guitarist, gives that final touch of charm with his voice. The war has put Dmitry Svirduk’s double-bass on a pause: all he knows and loves in life is music, yet he is now a conscript in the Ukrainian army. Jolly’s band will play the music they love, for their and our freedom and happiness.
*Invisible City stands with Ukraine and will transfer all your donations to the band, not retaining any commission.
We encourage you to make a contribution on behalf of every person who participates in this online concert together with you.
We believe that 7 euros per person is fair, yet most guests usually contribute around 11 euros, so if you have the means and wish to support the artists and Invisible City further, we’d be grateful if your contribution corresponds to what feels fairest to you.
You can also make a donation directly to the Invisible City account (for example, from your Revolut app or similar):
Account name: Invisible City MTÜ
IBAN: EE88 7700 7710 0336 8942
(Depending on your bank, the transfer may take some time to arrive, this is why please send us an email at email@example.com letting us know you made a transfer so that we send you your ticket right away!)
*WE TRANSFER 100% OF YOUR DONATIONS TO ARTISTS IF THEY PERFORM FROM UKRAINE 🇺🇦, BOTH WHEN IT IS A PUBLIC OR A PRIVATE CONCERT.
Even before the gig starts, Invisible City guarantees a minimum of 100 euros to the artist no matter what. This is our investment into the performance which provides a safety net for the artist. We make sure it is never a lottery! These funds come from reinvesting the donations from the previous performances as well as from our private sponsors who support Invisible City directly (here is how you can become one).
What the campaign receives above the 100 euro mark, we share with the artist in equal parts. In this way, we provide a guaranteed income to the artist while staying sustainable and helping more artists run more wonderful gigs.
